Matthew Brams, M.D.

Child. Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Brams is currently Assistant Professor, Division of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. He also serves as Director of Depelchin Children's Center and Bayou City Research, Inc. Dr. Brams earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas and then received his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.

Adult, adolescent, and child psychiatry residency training was completed at Baylor College of Medicine. He has been a recipient of the Nancy Roeske Award for outstanding medical student education. Dr. Brams is a Principal Investigator in several key clinical trials as well as an invited presenter at numerous medical conferences, both regionally and nationally.

In addition to having lifetime board certification in Adult, Adolescent, and Child Psychiatry, Dr. Brams currently serves as a Senior National Board Examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Research and clinical interests include Phase II, III, and IV clinical trials for treatment of broad range of mental health disorders.

Alice Mao, M.D.

Dr. Alice Mao has been in practice in Houston for over 18 years. She is a associate professor of psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and is in the private practice of adult and child psychiatry. She graduated from Rice University, University of Texas Medical School in Houston and completed residencies in adult and child psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Mao is board-certified in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Her specialty is psychopharmacological treatment of mood disorders, attention disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. She has participated in psychopharmacology research trials of novel psychiatric medications for ADHD, autism, and depression. In addition, she has published work in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Journal of Psychiatry.

She is an invited presenter at numerous national medical conferences for her ability to integrate information regarding evidence based psychopharmacological interventions with clinical treatment.

In 2009, Dr. Mao was honored by Texas Monthly magazine as a Texas Super Doctor because she was recognized by her peers for her expertise in psychiatry.

Monica Grover MD, PLLC is an independent practitioner at Memorial Park Psychiatry. Dr. Grover received her undergraduate degree from Amherst College where she graduated with honors in Biology. She later earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio after which she continued her education at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in their General Psychiatry Residency Program where she was honored with the Most Outstanding Resident award in her final year. Dr. Grover completed her training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.

Dr. Grover has given numerous lectures on the national level at the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She specializes in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry, and possess expertise in ADHD, behavioral problems, autism, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. She has extensive experience in caring for a wide variety of complex patients, tailoring each persons treatment to fit their unique and specific needs. She believes in a collaborative approach with patients and families, ensuring that each individual is an active participant in their own treatment plan.

PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH NURSE & FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER

Surya received her Masters of Nursing Science from The University of Texas Health Science Center Houston in 2017 and has been practicing in psychiatry ever since. Her passion for the subject led her to obtain an additional post-masters as a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Before working in the NP role, Surya was a Pediatric Intensive Care nurse at Texas Children's Hospital. She earned her BSN from Touro University Nevada (2011).

Surya believes in a holistic approach towards psychiatric treatment. She finds it important to explore both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment methods, while incorporating physical health and lifestyle changes. She has experience in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions and has a special interest in treating minority populations, women, and reducing the stigma related to mental health treatment.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Nicole Price, MEd, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC completed her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders and her MEd in Special Education at Auburn University. She taught special education for 11 years. She then earned her BSN and MSN from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Mrs. Price has over 5 years of experience working in family psychiatric and mental health nursing, as well as medical surgical and telemetry nursing. She currently specializes in child, adolescent, and adult mental health in an outpatient setting.

She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, and the American Nurses Association.

Mr. Smalling graduated from the University of Texas and has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2001. He specializes in Geriatrics, Adults, Adolescents and Child Psychiatry. He is also Bilingual.

Michael Abiodun, PMHNP, MBA, RN, completed a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Michael specialized in providing optimal care to patients across a broad variety of specialties prior to becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

Michael graduated from Lehman College - City University of New York with a dual Bachelor's degree in Biology and Economics in 2002. He also earned an MBA from Hawaii Pacific University - Honolulu, HI in 2006. He earned his BSN degree from the University of Texas - Medical Branch at Galveston in 2014. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, he specializes in child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric mental health.

Michael is perspicacious; his approach with every patient is addressing the root cause of each condition while providing the utmost care. He seeks to promote total health and wellness - the process of enabling patients to have increased control and management of their health. His ultimate goal is enhancing emotional, social/relational, environmental, physical, occupational, intellectual, and spiritual wellness - while judiciously utilizing pharmacotherapy and/or psychotherapy.

Amy is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from Mississippi University for Women (2013) and her Masters of Science in Nursing from University of Mississippi Medical Center (2016), specializing in psychiatry.

With 8 years of psychiatric experience, she has treated patients with acute and chronic depression, anxiety and panic, ADHD, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and psychosis, among others.

She appreciates the importance of the patient-clinician relationship, creating a safe and non-judgmental environment to facilitate healing. She uses both pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatment modalities to care for her patients, seeing them as a whole person rather than a list of symptoms.

Ebony Meremikwu is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with honors from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and later continued her education obtaining a Masters of Science degree from Walden University. Moreover, she has over 10 years in Critical Care medicine. She was the president of the Workplace Environment Committee at a Houston Methodist Hospital creating a safe place for staff, patients, and their families.

Since 2018, she has practiced psychiatry. She has experience in various modalities in behavioral health for both adults and children.
When human beings experience severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. She is passionate about assisting people to find healthy perspectives of themselves and strengthen intra-personal relationships. Exploring both allopathic and holistic treatments to get to the optimal goal of mental wellness.

In her spare time, Ebony enjoys spending time with her family and giving back to the community. She mentors youth and adolescents and volunteers monthly at homeless shelters.

Linda Ejem is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Queens Borough Community College-CUNY with a degree in Health Sciences. Later earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University. Linda holds an Advanced degree in Nursing with a Specialty focus in Psychiatry from Walden University. In addition, she has over 9 years in Critical Care medicine.


Her professional interest focuses on creating awareness in mental health amongst the disadvantaged population, and to explore both medicinal and holistic treatments to get to the optimal goal of mental wellness.


In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful children and wonderful husband.

She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Psychiatry Advanced Practice Nurses of Houston, the American Nurses Association, and the New York state Nurse Practitioner Association.

About Memorial Park Psychiatry

We are a family psychiatry clinic devoted to caring for children, adolescents and adults who are needing diagnosis or treatment of mental health disorders (including mood disorders, developmental disorders and disruptive behavior disorders).
