Matthew Brams, M.D.

Child. Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Brams is currently Assistant Professor, Division of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. He also serves as Director of Depelchin Children's Center and Bayou City Research, Inc. Dr. Brams earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas and then received his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.

Adult, adolescent, and child psychiatry residency training was completed at Baylor College of Medicine. He has been a recipient of the Nancy Roeske Award for outstanding medical student education. Dr. Brams is a Principal Investigator in several key clinical trials as well as an invited presenter at numerous medical conferences, both regionally and nationally.

In addition to having lifetime board certification in Adult, Adolescent, and Child Psychiatry, Dr. Brams currently serves as a Senior National Board Examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Research and clinical interests include Phase II, III, and IV clinical trials for treatment of broad range of mental health disorders.

Alice Mao, M.D.

Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Alice Mao has been in practice in Houston for over 18 years. She is a associate professor of psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and is in the private practice of adult and child psychiatry. She graduated from Rice University, University of Texas Medical School in Houston and completed residencies in adult and child psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Mao is board-certified in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Her specialty is psychopharmacological treatment of mood disorders, attention disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. She has participated in psychopharmacology research trials of novel psychiatric medications for ADHD, autism, and depression. In addition, she has published work in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Journal of Psychiatry.

She is an invited presenter at numerous national medical conferences for her ability to integrate information regarding evidence based psychopharmacological interventions with clinical treatment.

In 2009, Dr. Mao was honored by Texas Monthly magazine as a Texas Super Doctor because she was recognized by her peers for her expertise in psychiatry.

Shetal Amin, MD

Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Shetal Amin is a native Houstonian who completed her undergraduate degree at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She later earned her M.D. degree from St. George's University in Grenada and completed her adult psychiatry residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She served at chief resident her final year of residency. She returned to Houston to complete her adolescent and child fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine where she again served as chief resident. Dr. Amin is board certified in adult psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Amin specializes in the psychopharmacological treatment of mood disorders, anxiety spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorders and developmental disorders. She has a special interest in women's mental health and strives to promote community awareness in issues ranging from mood disorders in pregnancy to the effects of maternal depression on children. Dr. Amin also holds an interest in cultural psychiatry and is passionate about educating ethnic minorities, particularly the South Asian population, regarding psychiatric illnesses in hopes of eradicating the stigma of seeking mental health care.

Dr. Amin has presented on both the local and national level on various topics in child psychiatry and professionalism in mental health care.

Monica Grover MD, PLLC

Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry

Monica Grover MD, PLLC is an independent practitioner at Memorial Park Psychiatry. Dr. Grover received her undergraduate degree from Amherst College where she graduated with honors in Biology. She later earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio after which she continued her education at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in their General Psychiatry Residency Program where she was honored with the Most Outstanding Resident award in her final year. Dr. Grover completed her training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.

Dr. Grover has given numerous lectures on the national level at the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She specializes in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry, and possess expertise in ADHD, behavioral problems, autism, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. She has extensive experience in caring for a wide variety of complex patients, tailoring each persons treatment to fit their unique and specific needs. She believes in a collaborative approach with patients and families, ensuring that each individual is an active participant in their own treatment plan.

Jayne Perkins, MSN, RN, CS

Child, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Jayne Perkins, MSN, RN, CS graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Nursing with a Masters in Psychiatric Nursing. She also has an Advanced Practice degree in Gerontological Nursing, as well as being a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatry.

Ms. Perkins has over 35 years of experience working in family psychiatric and mental health nursing. She specializes in child, adolescent, adult and geriatrics in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She participates in the mentorship program with the University of Texas School of Nursing and is a member of the Houston-area PAPN, the Texas Nurse Practitioners, the American College of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners associations.

Ms Perkins also has an extensive practice at numerous assisted living and long-term care facilities around the Houston area.

Gina Logan

MA, PA-C

Gina Logan, MA, PA-C completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin and then went on to receive a Masters degree in Developmental Psychology. She pursued her research interests and postgraduate training in Personality and Cognitive Development at Texas A&M University. After completing the Physician Assistant program at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, graduating Summa Cum Laude, she became a certified PA in 1996. Upon graduation, she was granted the Faculty Award for Clinical Excellence.

During her almost 18 years in family medicine, she felt confident treating her patients' mental health needs due to her extensive background in psychology. More recently, she has chosen to concentrate in psychiatry so that she can utilize her skills in medical management and psychology with the goal to heal the mind and body.

As a student, she was a member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology. She is currently a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.
